The till often decides it.

MSTRMND vs Loyalzoo: the short answer

Loyalzoo and MSTRMND both aim at independent businesses and both say customers do not need an app. The difference is in the card and the connections. MSTRMND puts the card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet and sends messages from it. Loyalzoo lists integrations with Clover, Square, Shopify and EposNow, and works for customers with or without a smartphone.

If your priority is a connection to a till you already use, check Loyalzoo’s integration list first. If your priority is a wallet card with lock-screen messages, WhatsApp and customer segments, MSTRMND is built for that. We are MSTRMND, so read this with that in mind. What Loyalzoo offers

On its homepage, Loyalzoo describes loyalty, marketing and subscription software for small and independent businesses. It lists points and stamp cards, tiered rewards, birthday rewards and double-points days, subscriptions and memberships with split payments, SMS, email and push marketing, branded digital loyalty cards, dashboards with weekly reports and multi-location support. It says it is fully integrated with major ePOS systems with no extra hardware, or can run separately on any device.

Its FAQ says no app download is needed and that it works for customers whether or not they have a smartphone. It states no setup fees and no contract, and says the monthly price includes everything. The homepage shows no prices, so you will need its pricing page or a quote for numbers.

Customers with and without a smartphone

This is the clearest difference. Loyalzoo says it works for customers who do not have a smartphone. If a meaningful share of your regulars would rather give a phone number at the till than add a card to their phone, that matters.

MSTRMND’s card lives in a phone wallet, which is why it can update with each stamp and send a lock-screen message. That is a strength for customers who carry a phone, and a limit for the ones who do not. Staff can look a customer up, but the value of the wallet card depends on the customer holding one.

Integrations

Loyalzoo lists Clover, Square, Shopify and EposNow. MSTRMND’s published point-of-sale integration is Toast, on the Business plan, with Square, Clover and Stripe Terminal planned for Q4. Both can connect through other routes: the MSTRMND Business plan includes API and webhooks, so Zapier, Make and developer builds can reach the card.

If your till is Clover, Square or EposNow, Loyalzoo’s listed integrations are an advantage today. If you use Toast, or you want a custom connection, MSTRMND covers it.
