A wallet add-on and a wallet product are different things.

MSTRMND vs LoyaltyLion: the short answer

LoyaltyLion focuses on Shopify. Its pricing page lists a Classic plan at $199 a month with 500 orders, an Advanced plan and a Plus plan by quote, a Klaviyo integration and a wallet loyalty pass as an optional paid add-on. MSTRMND is aimed at venues where customers walk in, with the wallet card included on every plan.

A Shopify brand that sells mainly online should look at LoyaltyLion first. A salon, barbershop or café should look at MSTRMND. A brand that does both has a more interesting choice, covered below. We are MSTRMND, so read this with that in mind. Where the other product is the better fit, we say so. New to wallet cards? Start with our guide to digital loyalty cards.

What LoyaltyLion offers

LoyaltyLion’s pricing page shows three plans. Classic is $199 a month with 500 orders, a branded loyalty page, prebuilt earning rules, a Klaviyo integration with email flows and onboarding support. Advanced adds VIP tiers, points on product pages, enhanced Shopify point-of-sale for multiple locations and translations. Plus adds AI-recommended rewards, advanced Klaviyo events, automated flows and quarterly strategic advice. Advanced and Plus are priced by quote.

It lists a 14-day trial through the Shopify App Store and recommends a free plan for stores processing 400 or fewer orders a month. It cites more than 100 integrations and a developer portal. Loyalty Pass, for Apple or Google Wallet, is an optional paid add-on on all plans. The page shows a dollar sign without naming the currency.

Wallet cards: included or an add-on

This is a meaningful difference. In LoyaltyLion, the wallet pass is an optional paid add-on to an ecommerce programme. In MSTRMND, the wallet card is the product: Apple Wallet and Google Wallet cards come on every plan, and everything else is built around it.

If the wallet card is central to what you want, you will pay for an add-on in one and not in the other. If a wallet card is a nice extra to a Shopify store’s points programme, LoyaltyLion’s add-on may be exactly right.

Frequently asked questions

Is MSTRMND an alternative to LoyaltyLion?

For venues with in-person regulars, yes. LoyaltyLion is built for Shopify brands, with loyalty inside the store, product-page points and Klaviyo email events. MSTRMND issues a wallet card from the first visit and adds WhatsApp, segments and geo-push on higher plans. A brand that sells both ways should compare carefully.

Does LoyaltyLion have wallet cards?

LoyaltyLion lists Loyalty Pass, for Apple or Google Wallet, as an optional paid add-on on all plans. In MSTRMND, Apple Wallet and Google Wallet cards are included on every plan and are the core of the product. Check LoyaltyLion for the add-on’s current cost and features.

Which is cheaper?

They are priced differently. LoyaltyLion’s Classic plan is $199 a month with 500 orders and Advanced and Plus are by quote. MSTRMND is £31, £69 and £115 a month billed annually, limited by locations, card types and clients. Because the units differ, compare the tier you would actually use, including any add-ons.

Can I use MSTRMND with a Shopify store?

Yes, through the API and webhooks on the Business plan, with a developer or an automation tool such as Zapier or Make. Orders can then add to the same wallet card customers use in a shop. It is a build, not an app install, so it suits brands with a clear rule.
