Lightspeed Loyalty Integration: Run a Wallet Card at a Lightspeed Till

A Lightspeed loyalty integration for MSTRMND has no native link today. Lightspeed venues run the wallet card beside the till with the Scanner App, and use API and webhooks on the Business plan when they need a connection. This page explains both.

Via API and webhooks, Business plan

Start at a Lightspeed till

  1. Ring the sale
  2. Scan the wallet card
  3. Customer sees the update
  4. Add the API later if needed

Start on any plan.

Is there a Lightspeed loyalty integration?

There is no native Lightspeed link in MSTRMND’s published feature list. Toast is the point-of-sale integration included today, and Square, Clover and Stripe Terminal are on the roadmap for Q4. A Lightspeed venue can run MSTRMND now in two ways: scan the wallet card at the till, or connect through the Business plan’s API and webhooks.

Lightspeed makes point-of-sale software for shops and restaurants. It records stock, orders and customers. A wallet loyalty card handles something Lightspeed does not need to: reaching the customer on their phone between visits. The two sit side by side without either needing to change. What works at a Lightspeed till today

The simplest route takes a minute to explain.

  • Ring up the sale in Lightspeed as normal.
  • Scan the wallet card with the Scanner App on any phone.
  • The customer’s wallet updates with the new stamp or points.

The Scanner App is included on every plan, and the customer adds the card with a QR code, so nothing is installed on the Lightspeed device.

Retail or hospitality: which card fits

Lightspeed serves both shops and restaurants, and the right card differs. A restaurant or café with frequent, similar visits suits a stamp card. A retailer whose prices vary widely suits points or cashback, because the reward follows the spend.

A shop with a high-value range can add a gift card type, one of the eight MSTRMND card types, which also brings in new customers. A venue with regulars who like to bring a friend can use a referral card. The Business plan includes all eight types, so you can run more than one without upgrading again.

Three ways a Lightspeed venue uses it

The independent shop

A shop with a regular local customer base can run a points card at the counter and send a message when new stock arrives. The message reaches the lock screen, where it is more likely to be seen than an email from a shop the customer visited a month ago.

The restaurant with a bar and a dining room

The same card works at the bar and at the table. A customer who drinks at the bar on Fridays and dines on Sundays is one customer, and the Scanner App on a phone follows staff around the room.

The venue with a developer on call

If you want sales to reach the card automatically, a developer can use Lightspeed’s own API to read sales and call the MSTRMND API to add the purchase. That route needs the Business plan and a short build, and suits venues with a specific rule.

What you need before you start

  • For the Scanner App route, any plan and a phone at the till.
  • For a connected route, the Business plan and a developer or automation tool.
  • A clear reward rule and a short staff briefing.
  • A QR code at the till so customers can join in the moment.

What a Lightspeed connection will not do

Connecting the till does not fill the card list. Customers join because a member of staff mentions the card and a QR code is within reach. It also does not choose your reward. A connection is plumbing, and most of the effect of a loyalty programme comes from the offer and the way the team talks about it.

A first-week plan for a Lightspeed venue

A Lightspeed loyalty integration is not the first step. The card is. This plan gets a venue live on any plan inside a week, before any connection is built.

  • Day one: choose the reward and write it as one sentence a customer could repeat.
  • Day two: print a QR code and put it at the till at eye height, not flat on the counter where receipts cover it.
  • Day three: brief the team in two minutes with one script: “Scan this and add it to your wallet.”
  • Day four: put the Scanner App on every phone that will be used at a till, and test it with a real card and a real sale.
  • Day five: send the first welcome message, then look at who has joined and who has been asked.

By the end of the week you will know how many customers join in a normal service. That number tells you whether a Lightspeed loyalty integration of any kind is worth building, and it is far better evidence than a guess made before you have started.

Frequently asked questions

Does MSTRMND have a native Lightspeed integration?

No native Lightspeed link is listed. The published point-of-sale integration is Toast on the Business plan, with Square, Clover and Stripe Terminal planned for Q4. A Lightspeed venue can scan the wallet card with the Scanner App on any plan, or connect through API and webhooks on Business.

Can Lightspeed sales reach the card automatically?

Yes, with a build. The Business plan’s API and webhooks can receive events from a script or automation tool that reads your Lightspeed sales. It needs a developer and a written reward rule. If you want to avoid any build, the Scanner App adds one quick scan after each sale.

Which plan suits a one-site Lightspeed shop?

Starter covers one location with a single stamp card and up to 100 clients. If you expect a longer list, want customer segments or need three card types, Grow holds up to 1,000 clients across 5 locations. API and webhooks come with Business, so choose it only if you need that connection.

Will customers need to download an app?

No. Customers scan a QR code and add the card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. There is no MSTRMND app and no password. That keeps the joining step short, which matters at a till where a customer has only a few seconds to decide.

Key takeaways

  • There is no native Lightspeed link in the published feature list today.
  • A Lightspeed till can run the MSTRMND card with the Scanner App on any plan.
  • API and webhooks on the Business plan connect Lightspeed sales to the card for custom rules.
  • Match the card type to the venue: stamps for frequent visits, points or cashback for varied spend.
  • Connecting the till does not fill the list. A QR code and a mention at payment do.
