Odoo Loyalty Integration: Reward Odoo Sales and Refunds on a Wallet Card

An Odoo loyalty integration lets a confirmed Odoo sale add cashback, points or a visit to a MSTRMND wallet card, and lets a credit note take it back. It runs on webhooks and the API in the Business plan. This page explains how it works and what it takes.

Reward Odoo sales in four steps

  1. Sale confirmed in Odoo
  2. Event reaches the API
  3. Amount added to the card
  4. Credit note reverses it

Clean customer phone numbers first.

What does an Odoo loyalty integration do?

It connects the sales you record in Odoo to the loyalty card in your customer’s wallet. When a sale is confirmed or paid, a short piece of automation tells MSTRMND to add the purchase amount, a stamp or a visit to that customer’s card. When a credit note is issued, the same automation subtracts it.

Odoo is a business management system. Many companies use it for sales, invoicing, stock and point-of-sale. It is very good at recording what happened. A wallet loyalty card is good at something else: staying in front of the customer between sales. The Odoo loyalty integration puts the record from the first into the second, so the customer sees their reward without anyone at your company typing it in. New to wallet cards? How the Odoo connection works

Odoo is flexible, which means there is more than one way to connect it. The pattern is the same in every case:

  • A sale is confirmed or paid in Odoo.
  • Odoo or an automation platform raises an event. This might be an Odoo automated action, a short script, or a platform such as Zapier or Make that has an Odoo connection.
  • The event reaches the MSTRMND API. The Business plan includes API and webhooks.
  • The API finds the customer and adds the amount, stamp or visit to their card.
  • A credit note triggers the reverse, using the API’s subtract actions.

We do not list exact Odoo menus here, because they depend on your Odoo version and on how your company has set it up. The principle holds whichever route you choose.

Three ways to connect Odoo to a wallet card

The right route depends on who maintains your Odoo and how many rules you need.

Cashback is the natural fit for Odoo

Companies that run Odoo often sell higher-value items to customers who come back, such as furniture, equipment, services and materials. A stamp card does not suit a purchase of that size. A cashback card does: a percentage of each sale becomes a balance on the card that the customer can spend with you later.

The API includes an action that adds a transaction amount to a card and a matching action that subtracts it. That pair is what makes cashback safe. A sale adds the balance, a credit note removes it, and the customer never holds money you have already refunded.

Three ways a company uses it

The showroom with repeat buyers

A furniture or equipment showroom sells to the same households and businesses over years. A wallet card with cashback gives a reason to come to you first. The balance is visible in the customer’s phone, not buried in an email from last spring.

The service business that invoices

A cleaning, repair or maintenance firm that invoices through Odoo can reward each paid invoice. The customer’s card updates when the invoice is paid, which gives them a reason to pay promptly as well as to return.

The retailer with Odoo point-of-sale

A shop that rings sales through Odoo can feed each one to the card. Staff do not scan anything extra, because the sale itself carries the event. The Scanner App remains available as a fallback if a till is offline.

What you need before you start

  • The Business plan, because API and webhooks sit there.
  • An Odoo database with someone who can add an automated action or connect an automation platform.
  • A way to match an Odoo customer to a card: usually phone or email.
  • A written reward rule, including credit notes and partial refunds.
  • A developer or integrator for anything beyond a simple rule.

What the Odoo link will not do

It does not manage your Odoo data, and it does not run your accounting. It also does not make an Odoo database tidy: if customer phone numbers and emails are inconsistent in Odoo, matching will be inconsistent too. Clean the list first. A short clean-up before the build saves a long series of fixes after it.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a ready-made Odoo module for MSTRMND?

No ready-made module is listed. The connection uses the API and webhooks on the Business plan, with an Odoo automated action, a short script or an automation platform in between. That makes it flexible, and it means setup is a small build, not an install. A developer or integrator usually does it in a short project.

Can a credit note remove cashback from the card?

Yes. The API has an action that adds a transaction amount and a matching action that subtracts it, so a credit note can reverse the cashback a sale added. Put that rule in writing before you build, including how you treat partial refunds, so the card never holds money you have already returned.

Which card type suits Odoo sales?

Cashback suits higher-value, less frequent purchases, because the reward scales with the sale. Points suit a similar pattern with a shop-style redemption. A stamp card suits low-value, high-frequency visits and is a poor fit for most Odoo customers. Business includes all eight card types, so you can test more than one.

Do I need Odoo to use MSTRMND?

No. The wallet card works at any till and with any system, and the Scanner App is included on every plan. Odoo is one of several ways to feed the card. If you run Odoo and want sales to reach the card without a second step, the Business plan’s API and webhooks are the route.

Key takeaways

  • An Odoo loyalty integration connects confirmed sales and credit notes to a wallet card.
  • It runs on the API and webhooks in the Business plan, through an Odoo action, a script or an automation platform.
  • Cashback suits higher-value Odoo sales better than stamps.
  • The add and subtract actions come as a pair, so refunds can reverse rewards.
  • Clean customer phone and email data before you build.
